WORLD FAMOUS SOIL CHEMIST’S VISIT
LECTURES HT 'PALMERSTON ON ~ MONDAY. The itinerary of . Sir E. J." Russell, the ■world-famous authority on soils, having been altered, he will'now visit Palmerston North on Monday next, August 6th, instead of Wednesday as previously announced, and his lecture on ''The Top-dressing'of Pastures” will be delivered in the A. and P. Association’s lecture hall at 2 p.m. on that day. Sir John is recognised as one of the world’s leading soil chemists, and is Director of the famous Eothamsted Experiment Station in England, which has given so much valuable knowledge to the world on soils and their treatment. The Massey Agricultural College, ably seconded by tho A. and P. Association, was alive to tho importance of such a distinguished scientist’s visit, and promptly arranged for a public lecture in Palmerston North. It is anticipated,' therefore, that farmers from a wide area will take advantage of this unique opportunity of getting first-hand information from one of tho foremost authorities of the age on a subject of vital importance to their welfare. :
