Mainly Fair—Colder The centre of the northern cyclone is now crossing the Auckland Peninsula, but is of only slight intensity; another slight depression is centred near Sydney. Forecast: Westerly winds backing to southerlies north of Auckland; elsewhere easterlies veering to southerlies, still fresh to strong in parts of the East Coast south of Auckland, but decreasing in the Bay of Plenty; elsewhere moderate; seas rather rough to rough on tho East Coast from the Bay of Plenty southwards, but otherwise moderate; moderate southerly winds and moderate seas in the eastern Tasman &ea. Weather: Still unsettled over most of the North Island with further rain, but mainly fair in North Auckland and tho western portion of tho Wellington Province, and rain contracting generally to the eastward; some showers of' misty rain also in the eastern districts of the South Island, but fine in Westland districts; cooler temperatures.
