STEEPLECHASING AND WHIPPET RACES TO-DAY

A final reminder is given of the point-to-point steeplechases and whippet races to he held at To Matai this afternoon under the auspices of the Manawatu Hunt. The four events for tho hunters are over distances ranging from 2 to 23 miles while eight whippet races are scheduled. Good, fields will face tho starter in both the Juvenile and the Lancaster handicaps, the field is not numerically strong in tho Hurdles, the quality of the animals competing will compensate for tho small field. With dogs of tho ' calibre of Cayenne, Laughing Prince, Trixie, Gold Dust, Remind,, Vcrawynnc, Tripaway, Kiltie, Tea Bell and Hot Stuff competing some excellent racing should be witnessed and will no doubt bo thoroughly cnjojyed by the largo crowd who will be present at To Matai. Details of the bus'service to and from the grounds is advertised.
