Referring to her transfer the Hawora Star states: “On the eve of her departure to Palmerston North Miss Gray, who has been attached to the exchange staff of the local post office for the past four years, was mot by the members of the staff and presented with a cut-glass bowl and a beautiful bouquet of violets In the unavoidable absence of the postmaster, the presentation was made by Mr. C. Velviii, who referred to tne splendid service of Miss Gray, and eulogised her work and popularity with both stiff and public, and concluded by wishing her every success in her new appointment. Miss C. Moore (supervisor) also spoke appreciably of Miss Gray, and on behalf of .the exchange staff wished her future prosperity. Miss Gray suitably replied, and was accorded a hearty send-off by the assembled staff.” Miss Gray will be taking up her new duties in Palmerston North, on Thursday. Her mother, Mrs. Gray, of Mere Mere Ave., and her sister, Miss Ethel Gray, recently took up their residence in Palmerston North after having resided in Levin for many years.
