■ - HINTS. ..Remember that for pastry the flour cannot be too cold, while for cake it should always be warmed. «/.:■- !- Add a few crumbs of bread to scrambled .eggs. This will improve, the dish and make the eggs go further. If lemons are warmed before squeezing them, nearly double the quantity of juice will be extracted. Tinned fruit should be opened an hour or two before it is needed for use. It is far richer when the oxygen is thus restored to it. >: To clean japanned trays or tables, wash, them in a little warm soapy water, dry with a cloth and polish with dry flour. ‘, ' i - A mixture composed of two'-thirds water and one-third methylated spirit is excellent for cleaning the keys of a piano. , ■,/
