Weddings

McNAE—HOOPER, A very pretty wedding took place at St. Johns Church, Feilding,- on Wednesday, 11th. July, when Clara, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs EX Hooper of Apiti, was married to Archie, second son of Mr. and Mrs A. R. McNae, also of Apiti. Tho service was conducted by the Rev. F. H. Petrie. The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of cream georgette and silver lace over shell-pink satin, held at the waist with a spray of orange blossom. The'bridal veil was prettily arranged, arid hold in place with a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms,. She carried a bouquet of cream and pale-pink roses. The chief . bridesmaid, Miss G. Hooper (Wellington, cousin ' of the bride) chose pale blue georgette and silver-for her frock,; with a tulle head dress. Miss M. payb (second bridesmaid) wore an apricot georgette and gold frock/ and a.HulJo hiead dress, : Both bridesmaids carried bpuqhets of roses. There were two little.'flower' girls. ' Misses Hannah Choetham (sister of tho/bride) and Gladys .Cheetham (cousin) ; Wore ' Victorian frocks of pink and holio embossed tissho. and georgette respective-ly,-with bandeaux anj, posies to match the frocks. . The /.two. -little, flower girls, Cairo Best ! (niece of thbr bridegroom) and Joai' Death- wore r frocked, in oau-de-nil georgette'with petalled bandeaux to tone and/carried ' baskets of pink flowers. The bridogroom’a preseilt tb the bride was a pearl /ring and to the bridesmaids, a string of,- pearls. The little flower girls'each received a gold, armlet.

The bride’s going away frock was of powder blue; with this she wore a smart coat in the same shade and hat of biscuit and blue, v. A- * STEVENS—BEST. On the 25th. of June, at All Saints’ Church, the marriage took place of Miss Clarice Best, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Jos. Best, and Mr. Frederick Stevens, son of Mr. and the late Mrs D, Stevens, of Awapuni. The Eev. Mr. Kenney officiated. The bride wearing a dainty frock of rose beige crepo-de-chine,; with hat’to match, .was given away fjy her brother, Mr Harold Best, of Kairanga.
