WELCOME HOME. , i. From Our Own Correspondent, On Friday last, a surprise party took the form of a welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. Hay ter, when a most enjoyable evening was spent in playing games and cards. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies and the ended with the singing of Auld Lang Syne. Those ■present were: Mrs. M. Kroger, Miss A. Carey, Miss E. Dcihl, Miss M. Ireland, "Miss V. Meads, Miss B. Woods, Miss G. Fitzgibbons and Messrs T. Morgan, H. Meads, E. Rogers, D. Saywell, E. Morgan, S. Meads, A. Hodge, B. Say well, J. Martin, W. Carr, L, Saywell, C*. Hodge, A. James, W. Cooper, G. Truman, A. Cooper, E. Clifton, D. Woods, R. Carey.' • , h Football. The Rangiwahia seniors /journeyed to Apiti on Saturday to play their, last game in the Beard Cup competition. The game was , evenly contested and Rangiwahia should have won but they were playing two men short. Apiti won the day by 11 points to 5. The Rangiwahia juniors won by a forfeit from Apiti juniors. Card Thumament; , A card toiirhamcnt was held in the Rangiwahia hall on Saturday night. The proceeds being in aid of the'library. An enjoyable supper was provided by the ladies, the .winners of the prizes being: .
