"The large increase in the gates (£160) on the second day as compared with the second day last year proves that the Eugby match between Palmerston North High School and To Ante grows in popularity and interest. The stand receipts for this day were £ll7, as against £B6 last year and £l7 the year before.” Extract from the report upon the gate, takings at the recent winter show, presented yesterday to the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association hy Mr. M. A. Eliott.
Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., desires to acknowledge with thanks the gift of two parcels of clothing for the district nurse from Mrs. C. F. Baker, of Woodville. "It is evident that the horse events at the Show, are of very little interest and the takings do not pay cost of labour. In 1926 the returns were £7 16s 6d, 1927 £3 19s 6d, 1928 £1 3s, stated Mr M. A. Elliot .at yesterday’s meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association.
