WEDDING AT DANNEVIRKE

LOADER—McDOWELL. The wedding took place on Thursday at Knox Presbyterian Church of Rita May, Eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. McDowell, of Petcmo (but formerly of Danncvirke), and Philip James, second son of the late Mr R. Loader and Mrs Loader, of the Cosy Lounge, tho Rev. J. T. Macky officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very in a dainty frock of cream georgette and silk tulle, made with close-fitting bodice and full skirt, with which was worn the customary veil and orange blossoms, and a bouquet was carried. Tho bride’s sister Jean was the chief bridesmaid,' her frock being a pretty pink crepe de chine, with bandeau of pink and silver on the hair and she carried a bouquet to tone. Miss Jean Loader, sister of the bridegroom, who was second bridesmaid, chose blue crepe de chine, a blue and silver head-band, and had a bouquet to match. In attendance also-was little Joy McDowell, the small sister of the bride, who made a sweet littlo flower girl, dressed in pink georgette and carrying a basket of flow-ers. Mr. Roy Kells, of Palmerston North, was best man, and Mr. Gordon McDowell, brother of the bride, groomsman. A reception was afterwards held at the Cosy tea rooms, where Mrs McDowell, mother of the bride, received lief-guests in a coat frock of fuchsia repp with hat to match. Mrs Loader, mother of the bridegroom being in a grey costume and becoming hat to tone. Subsequently the bride and bridegroom left' for a wedding trip to Auckland and Rotorua, the bride travelling in a blue'ensemble suit with hat of fawn and fawn shoes. Exceedingly handsome were tho many presents received, including a host of useful articles presented to the bride at a kitchen tea given in her honour by the ladies ’ hockey team, of which she was a valued member. The bridesmaids each received a string of pearls from tho bridegroom, and tho littlo flower girl a dainty brooch. Mr. and Mrs Loader will reside in Danncvirke.
