CRASH OF AUTOGIRO

ACCIDENT IN ENGLAND. INVENTOR ESCAPES INJURY. LODON, May 29. Scnor de la Cierva, the inventor of the autogiro, accompanied by Art Eowler, the ukulele player, was demonstrating his invention prior to tho grand fly past of aeroplanes at Hamble air pageant, when tho maheine heeled over at a height of 30 feet and crashed in the centre of tho aerodrome, smashing the loft plane, the overhead propeller and a portion of the fuselage. The crowd rushed up, but the, occupants stepped out unscathed. Senor de la Cierva said tho accident was duo to an error of judgment in dropping the left plane too speedily. The autogiro, normally, was perfectly safe.
