General Rain A rather intense anti-cyclone is now centred over southern New Zealand, and a low pressure disturbance is developing in the north Tasman Sea. Forecast: Freshening winds between east and north, increasing to gale force over parts of the North Island, seas becoming rough in Cook Strait, and on the East Coast north of Akaroa; strong northerly winds in the north-east Tas man Sea and strong south to east in the south-east portion with rising seas. Weather mainly fine over the southern and eastern portions of the South Island; elsewhere unsettled with general rain developing with some heavy falls in the north. (Sun To-day) Rises, 7.31 a.m.; sets, 4 29 p.m, (To-morrow) Rises, 7.32 a.m.; sets, 4.28 p.m. (Moon To day) Rises, 3.43 a.m.; sets, 2.26 p.m. (To-morrow) Rises, 5.4 a.m.; sets, 3.0 p.m.
