IT PAYS. —.* NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING. GASMENS OPINIONS. The great advantages of newspaper advertising were discussed by Mr. H. C. Ridley at the concluding session of the last conference of the New Zealand Gas Institute. Mr. Ridley illustrated his points with the proof of a page advertisement which had been displayed in the Christchurch newspapers. “It is one huge boost for gas,” said Mr. F. W. J. Belton, the president, referring to the proof, and Mr. J. J. Rogers (Auckland) added that it would suit his city equally well,: in the course of a discussion of a national advertising scheme. “There is no difficulty in the way of the scheme if rightly handled,” said Mr. Rogers. Mr. M. J. Kennedy (Wellington) said that if the gigantic gas advertising scheme obtaining in America, was good enough for that country it should be good enough for New Zealand. “You cn always get what you want if you pay for it,” he said, “and it is just the same with advertising.” The advertisement which won so much favourable comment was produced by— THE JEWELL-SKINNER ADVERTISING AGENCY LTD.
