Stockloy (New Zealand) 1 E. Robertsou (N.S.W.) .... 2 Won by eight yards. Time, 1.22. 220 YARDS FREE STYLE CHAMPIONSHIP. K. Miller (New Zealand) .. 1 E. Davey (N.S.W.) .. .. .. 2 B. Taw (N.S.W.) ........ 3 Won by four yards. Time, 2.52 3-5 Tho events were swum, at Surrey Drive. Miss Miller led from tho start in the 220 yards from Miss Taw. At 75 yards she had increased her lead to a yard and forty yards from the finish had tho race well in hand. She swam a well-judged race. Miss Mealing ..ew South Wales led at the start of the Backstroke Championship and appeared a likely vrinner, but at fifty yards she veered across over the barrier. Miss Stockley kept a good course and came home a winner by eight yards. Miss Mealing did not complete the course The New Zealanders’ ability is commented upon in terms of high praise.
