ATTRACTIVE GIRLS
PRAISE FOR AUSTRALIANS. “A LITTLE TOO MUCH POWDER.” SYDNEY, Feb. 9. Miss Jean Proctor, who left Sydney as a young girl, has just returned on a visit. She says she finds Australian girls particularly attractive, and specially notes their well-shod feet, silk legs, and splendid figures. She thinks they powder a little too much, and, for girls who arc sunburnt, they certainly ought not to use so much white or natural tinted embellishments for their complexions. If they must use something, they should use special sunburnt shade. She is astonished at Australian girls going about in sleeveless frocks in the day time, and says a Parisian, under such conditions, would certainly wear a half sleeve, no matter how thin it was.
Finally, if Australian girls want to be smart, says Miss Proctor, they must give up wearing shoulder posies, for their death knell has already been sounded in Paris. Paris finds thal they have been overdone, so they are to die out. Just one more hint —if a tailor-made is contemplated for the winter, see that it is double-breasted. Double-breasted coats for men became fashionable, and now, as they always do when they got a chance., women are paying the men the groat compliment of imitating them.
