GOVERNOR-GENERAL ON THE WEST COAST
LENGTHY LIST OP FUNCTIONS. (Per Press Association.) WtSTPORT, Last . Night. . Their Excellencies Sir Charles and Lady Forgusson, who arrived on Wednesday on an unofficial visit, have had very little spare time as they have been to social functions in evenings, out .to schools within a 30-mile radius and visited the'hospital and old people’s home; Sir Charles was also the guest of honor of cx-servico men of Denniston on Tuesday evening. To-day under direction of tho Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs Harknoss, their Excellencies visited various institutions in Westport, including St, Mary’s College, and tho State school. This afternoon, the Vico Regal party were tho guests of the citizens at a garden party at the Technical High School grounds, tho . Mayor giving a speech of welcome. His Excellency, in his address, emphasized the need for all-round education before attempting to specialize. This evening Sir Charles attends a Masonic function at Granity. To-morrow their Excellencies leave for Nelson. ' ■
