SHADOW OF TROTSKY HANGS OVER RUSSIA
Moscow Rationed on Drastic Card System PEASANTS HANGING ON TO CORN [By Electric Cable-Copyright.] (Aust,. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday 11.35 p.m.) » LONDON, Feb. 20. Tho Daily Chronicle's Berlin correspondent says that Moscow is being rationed on a drastic card system including butter, tea, eggs and macaroni! Members of co-operative societies aro being allowed double and are also allowed to buy rice and potatoes, which are denied to the rest of the population. Meanwhile clothes are unobtainable in town shops as manufactures are being sent to the country in the hope of inducing the peasants to exchange corn for them. The shadow of Trotsky still hangs over Moscow, many believing the new troubles are traceable to sabotage by supporters of the exiled ex-Commissioner.
