MINISTER OF HEALTH VISITS PALMERTON N.
ESSOUSSES AFFAIRS OF NEW MATERNITY HOME. Honorable J. A. Young, Minister of Health, and Dr. Valentine, who arrived in Palmerston North yesterday, went into conference during the afternoon with the members of the Palmerston North Hospital Board on questions concerning the new maternity hospital. Although the deliberations of the conference cannot bo made public as yet, it is understood that a satisfactory arrangement was arrived at. Matters in connection with theraining of mid-wives in the home were discussed. > After meeting the Board, the Minister visited the public hospital in order to enquire after Mr. H. W. Eyes, one of the victims -of yesterday’s distressing level crossing accident. Mr. Young also inspected the progress of the work on the maternity home and expressed Lis satisfaction with the- work. Mr. Young left for tin North by the Limited Express last evening. Dr. Valentino returned to Wellington during the afternoon.
