For Feilding’s annual ewe fair, which, takes place to-day, over twenty thousand sheep have been entered. At a meeting of the Board of Managers of the Fcilding Agricultural High School a motion of sympathy with Mrs. J. S. Tingoy in her illness was passed with the Board’s wishes for a speedy recovery. Miss Gibson, late, of the 8.1. C., Christchurch, and latterly of To Aro House, Wellington, has joined the staff of John Cobbo and Co., taking over the Underclothing Department. At Wednesday’s meeting of the Kiwitea County Council the tenders of Mr. Jenson, of Ashhurst, for the supply and delivery of maintenance metal at 5/6 per yard in the Cheltenham riding and at 6/6 per yard in the Waituna riding, were accepted. At the Supremo Court in Palmerston North yesterday the Hon. Mr Justice Ostler delivered judgment for plaintiff in an action brought by E. W. Garner (New Plymouth) and Mary Alice Honcyfield (To Awamutu) as executors in the estate of the late Charles Edward Honcyfield, against Prank Ernest Harrison, farmer, of Fcilding, in which they asked for an order that accounts be taken. Defendant admitted a partnership between himself and deceased in a Fcilding property observed His Honour, but says it also extended to a property at Te Awamutu which was subject to a large mortgage. The Waikato partnership was denied by plaintiffs, but the onus of proof rested upon defendant. rlis Honour held that Harrison had failed to substantiate his contention that the partnership at Te Awamutu had existed and ordered that accounts bo taken as requested by plaintiffs. At tho hearing Mr Coker, of New Plymouth appeare for plaintiffs and Mr H. R. Cooper for defendant.
