ALL ON A SUMMER’S DAY
TIEITEA SCHOOL PICNIC Fine weather prevailed for tlie annual outing of the Tiritca Scliool children ou Wednesday ,whcn a joy oua coterie of young and old gathered at Ballancc Bridge to go picnicking. A great deal of care had been spent in making the day a successful and happy one. The obvious enjoyment with which children and adults alike entered into the various competitions and races fully justified the trouble and time expended. Mr Linklatcr present cd the prizes the results being as follows: Senior girls’ race: Freda Groatorcx 1, Lois Milner 2, Margaret Smith 3; junior girls’ race: L. Knowles 1, I. Great,orex 2. Special girls’ race: L. Milner 1, G. Davis 2, M. Lynch 3. Three legged race: K. Tate and Q. Davis 1, L. Milner and F. Groatorcx 2. Senior boys’ race’ M. Toms 1, AW AVolfbauor 2, H. AVolfbauer 3; junior boys’ race: Peter Gaisford 1, Charley Fitt 2, Frank Lynch 3; Special boys’ race: C. Fitt 1, 'll. AVolfbauor 2, K. Knudson 3; Three legged race: F. Lynch and H. AVolfbauor 1; T. Davis and AA r . AVolfbauer 2; High jump: M. Toms 1, AV. AVolfbauer 2, F. Lynch 3. Hop step and jump: AV. AVolfbauor 3. M. Toms 2. Young men’s race: E. AVolfbauer 3; A. Ogilvic 2, L. AVolfbauer 3. Great care had been taken in the choosing of the prizes which wore many, beautiful and .expensive.
