Cabled advices from Signapore report a further decline this week in the prices of poppers by id per pound. Buyers appear to bo waiting a little before committing themselves to business for the December direct steamer. Price of Singapore pineapples arc unchanged. Tapiocas are expected to have a shortage of freight space in the December boat, but buyers appear to take the risk of waiting in th e face of present high rates. Australian “plain” grade sultanas have now been withdrawn. The rice market is steady, and Australian dressed business is offering for January delivery. Java robusta coffee is reported very
firm. Chinese walnuts advanced £2 per ton.
