university student’s death. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Last Night. Douglas McLean, aged 20, who lived with his uncle, K. King, at 20 Awa Street, Otahuhu, wa s riding on the running-board o£ a motor car in Massey Road on Friday evening, when the car swerved to avoid a motor-bus. McLean was thrown off, sustaining head injuries and a fractured thigh. He was admitted to hospital at 7.30 p.m. and died shortly afterwards. McLean wa 3 a Training College student /attending the University. He had gained a scholarship, and was a capable athlete and cricketer.
