MAYOR’S CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Sir, —Xmas is with us again, and with confidence in tho generosity of the people of Palmerston North, I make my annual appeal, particularly for the children of those who aro not in a position to make this season of tho year any different to any other time. One appreciates to the full the support and the ready response of the people of Palmerston North to thq appeal I made during the past winter on behalf of the unemployed, but I would remind all that this appeal is made so that some small gift can be made, on behalf of the citizens of Palmerston North, to those who arc so situated that they will feel they are not forgotten. Your own enjoyment at Xmas time will bo all tho greater by the fact that you know you have helped to make the season a little more joyful to those children whose parents cannot do anything extra for them. Lists supplied by all the churches, the Salvation Army and the District Nurse are carefully checked, so as to avoid duplication, and judging from the letters received in tho past, it is fully borne out that our efforts to brighten Xmas time have been much appreciated. Will you please be good enough to acknowledge donations as forwarded?—l am, etc., F. J. NATHAN, Mayor. Mr and Mrs F. J. Nathan £5 5 0 Anonymous 1 ® ®
