MISSING AUTHORESS
POLICE OBTAIN DOCUMENTS. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.) [Aust. and N.Z, Cable Association.) (Received Monday, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 13. The police have obtained a copy of a letter which Mrs. Christie wrote to her husband, previously reported destroyed. They consider that it showed intention to disappear without returning. The police are also in possession of a note she wrote to her secretary, which they have sealed and undertaken not to rc-open unless she is dead. The "Daily Mail" says that this letter is described as the letter of a broken-hearted woman, and explains at length her reasons for the disappearance. Colonel Christie denies that tlip letter can be thus described, and although it was written when his wife was highly merry, it made no allegations against anyone. ANOTHER ENGLISH MYSTERY. In addition to the Mrs. Christie mystery, the relatives have asked Scotland Yard to find Una Crowe, aged twenty years, the daughter of the late Sir Eyre Crowe, who disappeared from her homo at Chelsea, and of whom no trace can be found.
