ASYLUM INMATE’S ESCAPE
SCORING AT CRICKET MATCH
An inmate of Abergavenny Asylum, who escaped, was recently recaptured after ten day’s liberty. Ho was found scoring at a cricket match at Pena It, and was arrested by the village constable on suspicion of having broken into a church. The man. Jack Rowe, of Newport, had been an inmate of the injstitution for about ten years, and was considered quite harmless. As la result be was allowed consider!able latitude. He is an enthusiastic cricketer, and has played for the asylum eleven, while ho is a keen follower of the town team. Apparently his enthusiasm overcame ijiim when he was watching the Penult match, and he volunteered to score. When the policeman arrested him, he at once gave his name and address, and was returned to the asylum.
