Krassin a interview with Sir Austen Chamberlain, with reference to credits, proved fruitless, the Foreign Secretary intimating, as previously, that Soviet propaganda, aggravated by the support of the British miners’ strike, was not calculated to facilitate the aims of M. Krassin’s mission. TROTSKY TRIAL UNCONFIRMED. (Received Wednesday, 5.15 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 13. The news regarding Trotsky and others emanated from Berlin. It has not been confirmed that the actual trial was opened, though there is ground for belief that some sort of interrogation occurred. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Riga correspondent suggests that the Central Control Commission is constituting itself a Party jury, to meet in a few days and arraign the leaders of the opposition.
