The Hon. Sir James Allen leaves for Christchurch to-day.
Mr. B. G. Gower and Miss Bertha Gower have returned to Foxton from a sojourn in Victoria.
Inquiries at the hospital show that Miss Dulcie Hewitt, whose foot was injured recently through a carving knife falling on it, while she was visiting friends at a local tea-room, is progressing favourably. Mr G. Mounsey, Foxton. was removed to the Palmerston North hospital on Saturday night, where it was found necessary to perform an operation. He is making satisfactory progress.
Dr. J. Keith Davidson, of Kaikoura, has bad the distinction of recently passing the examination for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He went lo Victoria College, and is a nephew or Mr Hugh Davidson, of Follding.
Mr. H. Hornblow, stationmaster at Foxton. has returned from his annual holidays, which, ho spent in tho Wellington and Taranaki districts. The last portion of his return journey, from Wirokino, was made in tho old way, per horse and cart, tho road in this'district being inundated by flood waters.
