NOTES OF THE DAY
The Feilding and district quoto of territorials who have been undergoing training- at Trentham, returned on Saturday evening. A very lengthy train brought trainees back and Fending- station presented quite a busy sight as the khaki-clad youths disontrained. The Main Trunk expresses also brought territorials to town. Mr. John Bartholomew has resigned from the position of secretary to the Fcilding Bowling Club, and has taken a position on the committee. Mr... 1. R, Cook has been appointed secretary. Mr. W. G. Haybittlc returned to Fending from Wellington by the express on Saturday, On a charge, of drunkenness, a firstoffender was convicted and fined lOs by Mr. J. Penney, .T.P., st the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday. A sharp frost was experienced in Fcilding on Saturday night and Sunday proved to bo one of those beautiful days that everyone has hee.n waiting for.
