EGGS FOR LONDON

ONLY WORTH 1/3 PER DOZEN. It has been freely reported during tho past few weeks that there is a very good market for eggs in London and that large quantities could be exported from this centre at very profitable prices to the producer. From 1/G per dozen up was spoken of frequently. It now transpires that some cabled information from London was misinterpreted, and what was thought to be a firm offer was really no offer at all. The present position is that the market in London for eggs is weak, and the best offers at present available leave the Auckland producer 1/3 per doz. On this basis only 300 crates (each containing 30 dozen eggs) have been secured for the Corinthic, which loads at this port on September 19, against 1000, which had at one time been expected.
