SANDON SPORTS CLUB

SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL GATHERING. Although Saturday’s function -was only the fourth r.liat it has held, the Handon Sports Club can congratulate Uaeif upon staging perhaps the finest rural sports gathering within a wide radius of Palmerston North. Not only did the various races and competitions draw large entries, but the diversified programme made the gathering an interesting one from a spectators' point of view. The weather was ideal and cousymently the park where the meeting .* s held, was soon thronged with a gaj crowd. The new grandstand, which was used for the disc time, wais greatly appreciated i,nd the Club was tendered many compliments upon its enterprise ip getting ttyis building erected and also upon the improvements made to the grounds, which were more or less a wilderness a few years back. Underneath the stand ar e built a number of rooms for the convenience of visitors and competitors, as well as a spacious compartment for the serving of refreshments.
