EARLY MORNING FIRE
OUTBREAK IN’ BANGITIKEI STKEET. ... .. Shortly after 2.30 this morning the Palmerston North Fire fighters were called from their beds to extinguish an outbreak of fire In the premises of the Hula Machinery Agency Co., Rangltlkei Street. Upon arrival of the brigade the building, which is a fairly old wobtfen .structure was burning fiercely, but the flames were soon under control A great fight was made to save’the adjoining confectionery shop from catching, and fortunately this was done, although a little damage was done, by water. The whole of the interior of the Hula Co’s building was alight, and Just as the brigade arrived on the scene the flames wore beginning to break through the root. The new engine recently purchased by the brigade was called to the scene and was used for flre-flghting purposes for the first time. The BWinP installed on the machine was not required, as there was sufficient pressure. The manager, Mr. A. W. Feaet, was unable to give any particulars regarding the insurances oh the good* es they were “on consignment." ..The. property is owned by Mr,
