SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Another round of the Feilding and District Cricket Association’s competitions opened on Kowhai Park on Saturday afternoon. when weather conditions were rather adverse. The ground was inclined to be heavy after the recent heavy rains and the rather bleak wind kept the field moving. In the Feilding v. High School Old Boys game, the former team was dismissed by the boys in the first Innings for 51 and the school replied with 80. In their second bat Feilding brightened up and at 6 o’clock had lost five wickets for 107 runs.

The other A. grade fixture was fought out between Cheltenham and Public Service. Batting first Cheltenham made 87 and have Iqst two wickets for 30 runs in their second strike. Public Service made 102 in their first hit.

These matches will be concluded on Saturday next. In the “B” grade competition Public Service v. High School the latter team batted first and declared at 5 wickets down for 188 (Bramwoll 92, Wood 64). Public Service responded with a total of 114, the School thus winning by 74 runs.
