WALES EATS THE LEEK

At Edinburgh, Scotland defeated Wales in a Rugby match B—s In showery weather. Forty thousand people were present. The Welsh forward rushes frequently worried their opponents and after twenty-eight minutes’ piay Wales scored a try which was converted, then Scotland pressed and was twice nearly in a position to score, but the passing lacked aacoiiracy. At half time Walea lead fi—o but flye minutes after the resumption of play, Scotalnd scored a penalty goal and’later a try which was converted. Wales made desperate efforts to recover the lead, the forwards repeatedly excelled and the three-quarters brought off passing movements but, they lacked pace tp carry them through. Scotland retaliated with three tremendous attacks and the great struggle ended B—s8 —5 in favour pf Scotland.
