1187 SHIPS SAIL WITHOUT “SPARKS”

Labourites put a number of questions arising out of the ships wireless operators’ strike to Sir Cuifcliffe Lister, who, in replying in the of Commons, said no ships subject to the provisions of the Wireless Telegraphy Act had been reported missing since November 26. He mentioned that 1187 ships, of which 85 were passenger vessels, had sailed without operators since the beginning of the dispute to January 31. He added that it was not proposed to alter the present procedure.
