A. AND P. SHOW TAKINGS
IMPROVEMENT ON LAST YEAR’S. Despite the bad weather, the takings at the A. and P. Show this week were ahead of last year’s takings. The amount collected was £144 as against £lOl for last year, when the epidemic was prevalent. The record figure for the Show is £3OO, made In one of the boom years. Of course, these totals do not point out the number of people attending the Show, as there are over 500 members of the Association, each of whom is supplied with one gentlemen’s and two ladies’ tickets for each day, thus swelling the attendance by probably 1000. WEIGHT GUESSING. Following are the results of the height-guessing competitions:— Bullock.—Correct weight, 746 lbs.: H. Grylls, (Hastle's Hotel), 745 lbs; P. O'Regan (Aorangl), 747 lbs. These divide the first and second prizes. Sheep.—Correct weight, 223 lbs.: C. Ryman (Kairanga), 223 lbs‘.; D. Stalker (Feilding), 2234 lbs.; S. Theed (Silverhope), 224 lbs.; W. S. /Page (Halcombe), 224 lbs. The last three named divide the second prize.
