DAIRY CONTROL
AN APPEAL TO THE DAIRY farmers.
(To The Editor.) gl ri j n the “Manawatu Daily Times” last Tuesday I read with regret the statement of two members of the Dairy Control Board, in which it is apparent they do not favour the ward system of,election. Mr. Gobdfellow said he preferred the Council system of election, because under the ward system an untried man may be elected, Surely the average dairy farmer may be credited with having a little intelligence. I would ask Mr. Goodfellow what council nominated the “ticket” for the first election of the Board. Under the wax’d system the North Island would be divided into Six wards and the candidates of each ward, if keen men, would express their views to the farmers in every district in their respective wards and it can confidently be assured the farmers would put the best men in. My object in writing this is to appeal to all dairy farmers to stick hard and fast to the ward system of election, which is the only fai- and demo:ratic method, and if adopted will prove eminently satisfactory and to accomplish this I appeal to the various organisations to work for it. —I am, etc., ’ F. W. HUBBARD. Palmerston North, Feb. 5, 1926.
