PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS.

Mr Peter B. Kyne, the American novelist, will arrive in New Zealand next May on a visit to relatives in Hamilton and Gisborne. The Rev. C. W. Duncumb returned to town yesterday after a holiday in Dunedin and Canterbury. Mr. Duncumb will resume his pulpit ministry on Sunday next.

Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P., .returned to Palmerston North on Wednesday night after a visit to Dunedin, whore he attended the Exhibition and presided over the conference of Power Board secretaries. 1 Mr W. Trueman, town clerk or Foxton, left yesterday on his annual leave. He will attend the Municipal Conference at Dunedin as representative of the Foxton Borough Council. Mrs Trueman accompanies her husband. Prior to his departure fo Hastings from Waipukurau, Mr, D. McKay was met by a number of friends and presented with a handsome hall chiming clock. The Mayor, Mr. .H M. Rathbone, in making the presentation, referred to Mr. McKay’s association, with the Rugby Union, the Racing Club and District High School Committee.

Mr H. E. Holland, leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, accompanied by Mrs Holland, will leave for Australia to-day. Mrs Holland, who underwent a serious operation during the general election period, will be staying in the Commonwealth for several months to recuperate in health. Mr Holland will return to the Dominion in four or five. Weeks’ time. ,
