BUTTER AND MEAT
The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op, Distributing Co., Ltd., has just received the following cable from its Lon. don office: —*
“Butter market: Steady and fair enquiry but higher quotations are causing some hesitation.. Quotations; New Zealand 172/- to 175/-; Australlon 162/- to 166/-; Argentine 142/to 154/-. Cheese: Firm with temporary shortage on the spot; New Zealand 100/- to 104/-. Lambs: Market shows rather weaker tone due to increased supplies, but values about unchanged. Mutton: Firm, excepting heavy weights. Babbit skins: Result sales —Furriers unchanged; hatters 6 per cent co 15 per cent, advance. Wool position unchanged; expect fair demand at the sales with no alterations In values.”
