FREEZING INDUSTRY
FEILDING’S BRISK BUSINESS. Operations at the Felldin'g Farmers’ Freezing Coy.’s works at Aorangi are now v6ry bri. V and an almost complete killing board is handling with despatch the thousands of sheep which are coming forward. An unsettled spring suggested doubttm drafting, but with the warmer weather, the lambs in this district have put on condition remarkably well, and are now coming forward well covered and at nice freezing weights. Ah though the average weight is slightly under that of last season ,the quality of the lamb is excellent. Thirty-four hundred lambs grown sheep are now being killed daily at the local works and with the expected arrival of more butchers, it Is hoped to reach the tally of four thousand daily. The farmers throughout the district are according the local works very generous support and the prospects are that the company will have a record season. Later on in the month large drafts art duo from the Taihape district and these will help to swell the killings in Feilding.
