WAY TO PREVENT WAR.
MAKE PROFITEERING IMPOSSIBLE. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Wednesday, 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 7. Mr. Bernard Baruch, formerly chairman of the War Industries Board donated 250,000 dollars for research for a method to remove profits from war through the conscription of wealth, the fund • to be- administered by the Walter Hines Page School of International relations, connected with the John Hopkins University. Mr. Baruch lias for long advocated the conscription of wealth and industry during war time as a deterrent to the activities of Jingoes in peace time. He believes the measure will be a powerful agency in preventing war. The Page school, for the purposes of research into the causes of war, was founded in memory of the United States War Ambassador to England.
