FRENCH OBSCURITIES.
BERLINS SEEKS ENLIGHTENMENT. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Ausc. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Wednesday, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, June 24. It is learned that Germany has sent a questionairo to Paris respecting obscurities in the French Note and has received answers. The German Government is now awaiting - Mr. Chamberlain's statement and the debate in the Commons to-day, which is expected considerably to affect the reply. In the meantime, the Premiers of ,he German States have been invited to visit Berlin to attend a special Council with the Cabinet on Saturday at which a reply will probably bo outlined. LABOUR M.P.’S* RESOLUTIONS. INSECURITIES OP SECURITY" PACT. (Received Wednesday, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON. June 23. The Parliamentary Labour Party pasded a resolution condemning the proposed Security Pact as not being calculated to secure Franco-German conciliation for a stabilised European peace, and inconsistent with the spirit and ideals of the League of Nations Covenant, also urging the extension of the League to include Germany and Russia and the establishment of ar, all-inclusive pact of security, based on the principles of the Geneva protocol.
