The Hawkesbury, Upper Murrumbidgee, Lachlan, Macquarie, and Bogan Rivers, are now in heavy flood The towns that at present appear to be threatened are Gundagal, Wagga, Forbes, Condobolin, Dubbo, and Warren.
The losses in Windsor district will be severe, especially among vegetable growers. It is estimated that over a million cauliflowers and cabbages have been destroyed, and some of the late maize crops have also been lost. The water is still rising, and some streets in tho town itself are flooded. Torrential rain is still falling. The Wingeoarribee River has broken its banks at Bongbong and low-lying land for miles is covered. Over seven inches of rain fell at Mossvale between Friday and Monday. Tho Hawkesbury River, at Richmond, rose to forty-eight feet above summer level. It is now an impassable torrent two and a half miles wide. The back waters have inundated the country for a groat distance. Frantic efforts were made to save stock and valuables, and though the major part, is now safe, many horses, cows, and pigs perished, and others are in danger. Yesterday was tho anniversary of the record flood of ISG7, when the waters rose sixty-three feet.
The Wollondilly River dropped rapidly, and the flood waters are receding. , A washaway occurred on the railway line between Lowanna and Glcnrcagh, near Dorrigo, when the Bellinger River overflowed. WARNING TO TWO TOWNS. TO PREPARE FOR FURTHER FLOOD. (Received Tuesday 10.35 p.m) SYDNEY, June 28. Warning has been Issued to residents of Windsor and Richmond to prepare for another flood, as a further rush is coming down the Hawkesbury. Throughout the day, a fleet of boats was rescuing the outlying residents and bringing them to the two towns. Parts of Forbes are now under water. The river has risen twentyone feet since yesterday. The main body of the flood water Is now sweeping down the Lachlan, and Is is expected to reach the town to-ntght.
