Prince Philip of Hesse served In the German Army and has lived here almost continuously #ince the war. The announcement of his engagement to the Princess Mafalda has given rise to speculation, because the Prince is a Protestant and the Princess Mafalda is a Roman Catholic., The “Daily Express” Rome correspondent gays it is believed the Roman Church will allow the marriage if solemnised according to its rites, each partner retaining his and her religion, but the children will be trained as Roman Catholics.
