AORANGI'S STEWARDS.

REFUSE TO SERVE DINNER, PROTEST AGAINST PRESS CRITICISM. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Last Night. The statement in the press this morning that many of the Aorangi's stewards are not competent was the subject of a protest by the stewards this evening. They refused to servo dinner. Captain Crawford met the men and undertook that a modifying statement would be published. He states that on the whole the stewards are a competent lot and this he says is confirmed by a number of passengers.
