LAW CLERKS’ DINNER

annual reunion

The annual dinner and reunion of the Palmerston North Law Clerks' Association was hold last evening when there was an attendance of about thirty members. Mr A. J. Me* I. envoy presided. Among: the visitors were Messrs. It. J. Jacobs W. L. Fitzherbert, Mr G. H. Lang:, Registrar of (lie Supreme Court apologised for absence, also Mr G. H. Trott (Palmerston North Debating Society). The function was a tremendous success, every arrangement of the secretary. Mr T. M. N. Rodgers, being executed with pleasing smoothness, and harmony. Music and merriment was the programme of the evening and a fairly lengthy toast list was honoured as under; —Kindred Clubs, proposed by Mr Shannon, response, Mr G. Petersen, of the Palmerston North Literary and Debating Society; Our Employers, proposed by Mr Rodgers, response, Mr W. L. Fltzhorbort (Law Society); Court Ollicials, proposed by Mr Goldlinch, response, Mr M. Niccol; Helpers, proposed by Mr Opie, response Mr Jacobs; Lady Law Clerks, proposed by Mr Davis, response, Mr A. Muirboad; Otlicc Boys proposed by Mr Strange, response, Mr E. Stone: The Committee, proposed by Mr McKay, response, Mr Niccol; The Host (Mr Bleascl) proposed by Mr Roots, response in person; The Chair (Mr Rodger) and the Press (Mr Robertson). The incoming committee was elected as under: —Messrs. J. H, Sharman (chairman), A. Davis. D. F. McKay, 31. Strange, C. Robertson, and A. Miurhead.
