TERRACE END SCHOOL

, CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING Tho annual concert and prizegiving ceremony was held in the Empire Hall last evening, when there watt a large number of parents and friends present to enjoy what proved to be a delightful entertainment. Tho whole of the programme was contributed by (ho pupils attending the school, and their efforts wore received with ma.nicstations of pleasure hy tho audience. Tho stage was artistically decorated with greenery and streamers, and the effect of tho. various spotlights on the beautiful multi-coloured dreaues was very spectacular. During the evening (lie chairman of the committee (Mr G. 11. Stiles) presented the prizes, and in a Inlet speech congratulated the headmaster (Mr Overton) and other members of the staff on tho success that, had boon achieved throughout the year. Tho school had been singularly fortunate in personnel of the teaching staff, such men as Merjtrs F. Fairbrolhcr, A. W. Thompson, and now Messrs Overton and F. C. Campbell had all helped to maid; the school what A now was,'and the (hanks of tho parents wore due to those gentlemen, together with the present, staff, for the excellent examination results.
