BOXING.
MacDONALD V. PARKER,
The box plans for the annual Boxing night carnival held by the Manawatu Boxing Association open to-day, at Oates’ Music Stores. The fight arranged for December 2Gth is considered to be the best fight that could possibly be staged in New Zealand, and to secure it the local Association offered the limit that any Association can go for prize-money—-£2oo purse and the middleweight championship is the stake. Lachio MacDonald Vas never been defeated in any professional fight—once he has drawn —and Eddie Parker has the distinction of beating such wellknown fighters as Brian McCleary (twice), Harry Stone, and numerous others, and only twice being defeated. The fight is for 15 rounds, and will he preceded by several amateur bouts, including two sixround goes between Bill Walden and Nelson McKnight (brother of Garde McKnight), who is well-known in Palmerston North, and another fight between Jim Evans and Mark Carroll. The local Association deserves to be well patronised for their venture, and it is dollars to doughnuts on a full house.
