TAX REBATE OF ONE MILLION STERLING. ON MONEY RECEIVED FOR CHARITY. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [.Vust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Sunday, 7 p.tn.) LONDON, .July 2C. j The Ecclesiastical Commissioners made a belated discovery that the Income Tax Act authorises a rebate on all moneys received for charitable purposes and began an action in the High Court, claiming the refund of one million sterling on four years' income from the Inland Revenue Department. Justices Hewart and Darling granted a rule mandanus, calling on the Tax Office to show cause why it should not refund one million sterling levied in taxation on moneys received by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for charities.
