NOTES OF THE DAY.
That section of Kimbolton road which has been laid down by the penetration method of tar sealing,caused the council’s maintenance staff to attend io broken patches on Saturday morning. The fact that it is breaking up in places has been mentioned in these columns on several occasions and there appears to be some doubt as to its lasting qualities Whether the fault lies with the road itself or the method of application only an expert can tell, and it has been suggested that before further work is clone, a report should be. obtained Quito large patches were attended to on Saturday and if this is to continue Hie loan money will not see the whole job out_ The Rev. W. Tye, curate of St John’s Anglican Church, preached at his last Feild'ng services yesterday, and will bo leaving to-morrow to take up his now work in the Wanganui Parochial district.
