TOURNEY TO-MORROW NIGHT. At the spera House to.morrow night the Manawatu Boxing Association will stage a tournament for boxers who have not won a “try-out ” tourney or matched fight. Thirty-six have signified their intention to compete and the newly formed club at Shannon intend sending ten members to try conclusions with the pick of the Palmer, stem North lads. The larger proportion of the Shannon team comes from Margnbao vorks whore the out-door life and hard work have helped to make them fit to go any distance, but, as the novice fights are all of three two-minute rounds, it will be a case of schooling versus condition in many instances. A 6-round fight has been arranged between Waldeni, of Manawatu, and Frame, of Dunedin, a figh. ter with an unbeaten record to date.
