Under the chairmanship of Mr Link, 'later, M.P., the committee appointed to gather funds towards erecting a new hall In Newbury district are making good material progress. Recentlj about £3O was cleared from a concert and dance held in the Kairanga hall On Friday evening a similar function was hold in the Bunnythorpe Hall, from which a still further amount will be added to the fund. The hall was packed with parents and gay youth. Several artists from Palmerston aug. mented some of the local talent and give an interesting and varied programme. The names of those who assisted were: Mrs Gilmour (accompanist), Miss Woodfleld, and Miss M. Linklater, pianoforte duet; Madame Garden, Miss Woodfleld, Mrs Parker, Miss Y. Healey, Messrs Linklater, Lyall, McGregor - , and Gilmour, vocal items; Mr de Berry, monologues; Miss Myriel Campbell, Miss Marjory Campbell, Miss V. Healey, elocutionary items.
